The Desert!
I figure I would start with a couple pictures from the last trip, even though it was a couple weeks ago. It has been a busy few weeks and I just can’t wait to get out to the Desert for my Birthday coming up. We did do an over nighter in Canyonlands recently to check out some new stuff. Now to go back and hit them again. We camped in the car overnight in February, and I wasn’t to bad to my amazement. We took extra blankets and I kicked them off due to me over heating. I would rather have that happen then freeze my butt off.
We were up early to see Mesa Arch, then off to a new place called the Secret Spire. Good thing I mapped it out on the GPS or we would have never found it with all the winding dirt roads forking over and over. Then up a new canyon I have seen online called Cameltoe Canyon. I thought we hiked up far enough to see what I found online, but I was wrong! So next time we go back we have more exploring to do. Then we found a rock covered in Indian writing…. it is called the Birthing Stone. Shoot we have driven passed it many times driving up Kane Creek Road, it is just off the side and can be seen from the car. I hope the weather is better next time we go.
March 21st for my birthday we are planning to hit Bryce Canyon, Kodachrome, and Escalante. We will see how the weather is and decide if that is still the plan, either way we are getting the heck outta hear for 5 days, I can’t wait!
