February 20th – 26th, HDR or not

Its been a while since I have gotten a decent shot of a sunrise/sunset and after work a couple days this week I had to get out and give it a shot. Of course the weather didn’t really work the way I would have liked it. The first day there were some crazy clouds as a storm had rolled in. At least it gave for some interesting pictures along with the ice that was still on the lake. The next night there was a break in the sky after work, so I got back down to the same spot to give it another go. All was set well for a good sunset, but it was dissapointing evening again. I like the clouds much better the day before. I thought I would give a little HDR a chance today. I am new at this and usually just use a Shadow/Highlight tool in Photoshop. If you can get this done correct then your image can look pretty awesome. The first picture in this set is what I got out of HDR, and the rest with Shadow/Highlight. I will keep trying…….

February 13th – 19th, Picture in Picture in Picture….

Have you ever felt so busy that you wish you had a clone? Well I am sure everyone has at one point! This week I feel I been to busy to get things done. However today I finally feel caught up. I decided to try another picture in picture in picture ect….. again for this week, since it has been a few years since the last time. Markai and I had done a picture like this over 3 years ago and we thought it would be fun to try it again. However it does get hard to see all the shots in the middle, but here you can see each shot in its own before I made the final picture. The hardest thing really is the background. We used a black sheet that we bought a couple years ago. Do you know how hard it is to get the wrinkles out of those? And then all the fuzz that sticks to it after. Maybe someday I will just have to buy a “real” backdrop for taking shots. As for now that $10 sheet is going to do the job.

February 6th -12th, I love Gadgets!

Who doesn’t love toys? Well we all have different idea of toys that we have. I love electronic gadgets, how could you not? I guess if for some reason all power was wiped out and we had to live without electricity I might run into trouble…. I recently upgrade over the the Droid era in the cell phones, oh man that is trouble. I am always on that thing, and not talking on it. Who really talks on the phone these days anyway? Text, message, FB, send me a picture….. Who needs to call sick into work these days, when I can send a message. I don’t do that any way, but others do. I think some of this technology is taking our spine out. If you can’t say it to someones face then should it be said at all? At least some other gadgets I have will capture those awesome moments in time, while the others save it, and after that the others can play it back to me! How awesome is that. Gotta love them gadgets, but remember they do have an attitude and might crap out on you….

Motorola Droid X = Awesome!

How many Hard Drives does one need, well I need a ton to back up my photos. 6TB sit right there.

The most used gadgets over the years, and the most expensive too.

GO PRO, this thing is just awesome! 1080 video in a tiny package.

These were awesome in there day, now there sits $800 worth of paper wieghts, but they still work!

DVR, BluRay, LCD, remember when we had 3 stations, and 1 came in clear?

Junk drawer full of random stuff over the years, one of many drawers like this in the house.

January 30th – Februray 5th – Aston Sisters

My sister Teri got married this weekend, and it brought some family together. Of course weddings to that exact thing, but it is sad we have to wait for something like this to get us all together. I have 1 sister, 4 half sisters, and many sister in laws. On the Aston side I just have my one brother Alan. To bad we have spread out over the years cause I miss hanging out with some of the family. It was a good weekend since me and my brother got to hang out and do our own thing. We let the ladies to there thing, you know the boring stuff like watch the chick flicks and talk about boys…. They did have a bachelorette, that my bro and I got the end of, and it was quite the party. Good to see the dark side of the ladies! Those pictures will not be posted on here…… ;)
